Court moved against Jam

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Aug 26: PML-Z provincial chief Mir Zarak Zehri has moved the Balochistan High Court against Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf for holding two public offices at the same time.

Advocate Syed Ayaz Zahoor filed the petition on Tuesday on behalf of Mr Zehri. Preliminary hearing would be held on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference here, the PML-Z leader told reporters that he had moved the high court challenging the holding of two offices at a time by a single person under the Political Parties Order, 2002.

He said that section 9 and 18 of the PPO-2002 clearly says that a person could not hold two public offices at the same time.

He demanded that following the footsteps of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali he should resign from the office of PML-Q provincial chief, as the premier resigned from the party’s secretary generalship before taking oath of the PM’s office.

The PML-Z leader said Mr Yousuf took oath of the CM’s office in violation of PPO-2002.

Mr Zehri demanded that he should resign from the office of PML-Q provincial chief and take a fresh oath as chief minister.
