RAWALPINDI, Aug 13: Speakers at a seminar on Wednesday demanded of the government to announce its youth policy, start exchange of youth delegations, both at national and international levels, and provide employment and educational opportunities to the new generation in order to utilize human resources for best interest of the country.

The seminar, entitled Problems of Youth, was organized by the All Pakistan Youth Association (APYA) in collaboration with NGOs of southern Punjab and Madar-i-Millat Caravan in connection with the International Youth Day and to pay tributes to Ms Fatima Jinnah.

District Nazim Tariq Kiani said fortunately the district had the best record in education as compare to other cities of the province. But as the city had not been constructed according to well-devised plan, he added, there was a lack of playgrounds and other recreational facilities. He said steps would be taken to properly maintain the available facilities.

Mr Kiani said immunization programmes against hepatitis and tuberculosis would soon be launched in the city.
