Marwat said the education department was not consulted and he came to know about this decision only through newspapers.
He said this decision was being criticized by people, students, teachers and also newspapers.
The minister made it clear that he was making this statement only to show that education department had no concern with the decision of allowing grace marks.
When asked as to why he did not take up the issue with the boards, the minister pointed out that all educational boards were under the authority of governor and not under the education department.
The minister said that grace marks were allowed only under extra-ordinary circumstances like war, emergency.
“Why one should be allowed grace marks in back date without any reason. There should be some cogent reason,” he said.— APP
