KARACHI: Girl falls off pedestrian bridge

KARACHI, Aug 7: A young girl was seriously injured when she fell off the overhead pedestrian bridge in Bohri Bazar Saddar on Thursday.

The 12-year-old girl was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment. Her name could not be ascertained.

ROBBERY: Four armed men robbed a house of a local newsman in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Thursday.

According to reports, four armed men barged into the house of Shahid Jatoi in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block-4-A, Azeem goth, held the inmates hostage at gunpoint and escaped after collecting gold ornaments, Rs100,000 and other valuables including watches, mobile phone and a tape recorder.As FIR was lodged at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station.

ARRESTED: The Preedy police on Thursday apprehended an impersonator, pretending to be an official of an intelligence agency at Rainbow Centre.

DSP Preedy, told Dawn that on a tip-off, the police arrested Amir Husain, a former foreman working at the civilian shop of Pakistan navy.

The suspect used to blackmail the shopkeepers posing himself as an intelligence operative. An FIR 98/2003 was lodged at the preedy police station.
