By Our Correspondent

MOHMAND AGENCY, July 30: The military attache of 25 countries visited Ghalani, the headquarters of Mohmand Agency, on Wednesday.

An official said that Islamabad-based military attache of 25 countries, including Britain, United States, Bangladesh, Poland and Australia, visited the Mohmand Rifles camp in Ghalani and held a meeting with Political Agent Sahibzada Mohammad Anis and tribal elders of the agency.

A 40-member delegation of tribal elders informed the military attache about the recent skirmishes between the Pakistan and Afghan forces in Mohmand region along the border.

The tribal elders told the diplomats that the so-called disputed areas of Baizai and Khwaizai were a vital part of Pakistan territory. They said local population had welcomed the deployment of army troops and paramilitary forces along the Afghan border to secure the border. The deployment of regular forces along the border led to clashes between the forces of the two countries.

The tribesmen informed the military attache that the Pakistan Army and the local administration had launched development schemes in the remote areas.
