Embassy reopens

KABUL, July 21: Pakistan’s embassy here officially reopened on Monday, nearly two weeks after it was closed when it was ransacked by protesters on July 8, a diplomat said.

Dozens of visa applicants thronged the embassy with a few policemen looking on. Diplomatic sources said $200,000 was being sought in compensation for the ransacking.—AFP
