Centcom chief in Baghdad
BAGHDAD, July 21: The newly-appointed US Central Command chief, Gen John Abizaid, arrived in Iraq on Monday to “see for himself” the operations of his troops facing what he has described as a guerilla war.
“As the Centcom commander, he is here in Iraq meeting with senior commanders of combined Joint Task Force Seven,” Major Dean Thurmond said in Baghdad.—AFP
