Bajaur border sealed

BAJAUR, July 20: The Bajaur political administration and the Bajaur Scouts on Sunday sealed the Pakistan-Afghanistan border barring all movement across it after the occurrence of recent clashes between Pakistani and Afghan troops along the border in the tribal agency, sources said.

The political administration beefed up security measures in the tribal agency, setting up checkpoints in different areas.

Border security personnel had been deployed on unfrequented routes along the porous border to check cross-border movement and infiltration into the Pakistan territory.

Sources said that hundreds of personnel had been deployed along more than a dozen routes which Afghans used to illegally enter Pakistan. The patrolling in the border areas has also been increased to check criminal elements or intrusion from the Afghanistan side, sources added.
