LAHORE, July 15: As many as 27 areas in the provincial metropolis have been declared as sensitive for making storm water drainage arrangements during the monosoon.

Laxmi Chowk, Empress Road, Cooper Road, Chok Nila Gumbad on Shahrah-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Nabha Road, Shah Jamal, Park Lane, Ik Moria Pull, Do Moria Pull, Omar Din Road, Chowk Nakhuda, Sheranwala Gate, Bhati Gate, Aziz Road, Scheme Morr, Dharampura Bridge, Haq Nawaz Road, Shah Kamal, Tauheed Park, Baghicha Nathainwali, Milad Street, Kalma Chowk, Firdaus Market, Liberty Market, Barkat Mraket, Centre Point and Thornton Road were identified as sensitive areas during a meeting held here on Tuesday to review the arrangements made for storm water drainagae during the monsoon with District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood in the chair.

The District Nazim was informed that the Water and Sanitation Agency of Lahore Development Authority had set up 21 complaint centres in different parts of the provincial metropolis for receiving complaints in respect of accumulation of storm water. Wasa officials would be on duty at the centres round-the-clock tiil Sept 30. An emergecny complaint centre was already functioning at the Wasa Head Office. Emergency generators had been installed at all 13 sullage water pumping stations and 220 dewatering sets had been handed over to flood emergency centres in six towns for use during the monsoon.
