Reshuffling in AJK

MUZAFFARABAD, July 15: The AJK government has posted, transferred and promoted many of its senior officials in a major reshuffle.

A handout says secretary communications and works Sardar Mohammad Latif Khan has been transferred as secretary agriculture, animal husbandry and food whereas Dr Salahuddin, who was serving as secretary forests, agriculture, animal husbandry and food, has been posted as secretary communication and works.

Member Board of Revenue Syed Fayyazuddin Gillani has been posted as secretary religious affairs, auqaf, ushar and zakat, social welfare and women development. The managing director of the Azad Kashmir Logging and Sawmills Corporation (AKLASC), Naeem Shiraz, has been transferred as secretary President Secretariat in place of Abdul Hameed Shaheen. Mr Shaheen has been posted against the new post of secretary education (colleges).

Dr Raja Arif Khan will retain the post of secretary education (schools). Commissioner (Mirpur division) Sardar Mohammad Khurshid Khan has been transferred as secretary forests and sawmills corporation. Azad Kashmir Mineral and Industrial Development Corporation chairman Shaukat Jan Buch has been transferred as secretary industries and labour. Public Relations Department director general Salim Bismil has been transferred as secretary information, tourism and information technology.

Area Development Project (ADP) Programme Manager Chaudhry Amir Afzal, who is serving on contract, has been posted as commissioner Mangla Dam affairs. He will also hold the office of chairman Mirpur Development Authority.

Chief conservator forests Dr Manzoorul Haq Awan has been posted as programme manager of the ADP while conservator forests Sardar Farooq Khan has been posted as CCF.

Director industries Tariq Bashir Sheikh has been transferred as Small Industries Corporation managing director in place of Sardar Javed Ayub who has been transferred as director Kashmir of the Institute of Public Administration.

KIPA director Aizaz Nasim has been transferred as DG tourism in place of Raja Manzoor Kiani, who has been posted as commissioner Muzaffarabad division, replacing Chaudhry Khurshid Ahmed, who has been posted as commissioner Mipur division.

The charge of population planning has been given to the secretary services and general administration, Raja Farooq Niaz.

Meanwhile, chief economist Manzoor Hashmi has been made officer on special duty.
