PESHAWAR: Storm hits Peshawar

PESHAWAR, July 10: Strong winds followed by rains lashed the provincial metropolis on Wednesday night leading to pro longed power failures.

According to the Met Office, the city received 71mm rains, which brought down the temperature from 36°C to 22°C.

After many weeks of scorching heat, the rains brought about a pleasant change in the weather.

In Faqirabad, Zaryab Colony, Yakatoot, Circular road, Dabgari and Muhalla Ghari Mir Ahmad Shah areas of Peshawar, power remained suspended for the entire night.

Power remained suspended for around nine hours and the authorities concerned remained indifferent to the complaints of the people of these areas.

The rains added to the citizens miseries when the sewerage system failed.
