PESHAWAR, July 9: The Water and Power Development Authority has advised the general public to observe safety measures against electricity hazards during the monsoon season.
The authority has requested consumers to immediately inform the nearest complaint centre on finding any electricity wire fallen on the ground, says a press release. They have also been told not to touch any electricity wire falling on the ground.
The press release advised women not to use metallic wires for hanging clothes for drying and not to tie cattle with electric poles. Wapda has also advised consumers to use properly earthed three-pin plugs with electric iron, washing machines and other electrical appliances.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company has denied reports about loadshedding in Jehangira, Owgi and Takht Nusrati and Kohat districts. A statement said the company had to suspend power supply to some areas due to necessary repair and maintenance work.
