KARACHI, July 7: At least five persons, including an eight- year-old boy, died in separate rain related incidents of electrocutions in different parts of the city on Monday.

Police said that Arsalan, 8, died as he touched an electric pole in Garden East near his apartment complex. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital from where it was referred to the JPMC.

Police said that two young brothers, identified as Yousaf, 19, and Rehmat, 32, died due to wire-snapping in Korangi No 4.

Police said that Yousaf suffered an electric jolt, when he stepped into rain water, his brother Rehmat came for his rescue but got electrocuted. Both the young men died on the spot. The bodies were shifted to the JPMC.

In Saddar, Mohammad Qasim, 26, died of an electric jolt in the rain water near CIA Centre. Police shifted his body to the JPMC.

BODY FOUND: The body of an unidentified young man was found from a house in Sector-14/B of Mochko on Monday. Police said that the body was found with his hands tied behind his back and strangulated with an electric wire. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

Till filing of this report, the victim’s identity could not be ascertained. However, after post-mortem the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification.

KILLED: A security guard died in accidental firing in PECHS on Monday.

Police said that a security guard Mureed Husain, 27, received a fatal bullet wound, when pistol of his colleague guard, Mohammad Amin, accidentally went off. Both the guards were on duty at the office of EOBI situated at Nursery.

The body was shifted to the JPMC for post-mortem examination. Police arrested Mohammad Amin for interrogation.

ACCIDENT: Two persons died in a road accident in Quaidabad on Monday night.

Police said that a truck skided on the slippery road and rammed into the car. Both the persons, who were travelling in the car died on the spot, however, police could not ascertain their identity till filing of this report.
