LAHORE, July 5: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has ordered the P&D chairman to complete the process of reorganization of planning and development programme immediately.

He was presiding over a meeting here on Saturday to review the development plan in the province. He also directed the authorities concerned to expedite the implementation process of development projects to attain the desired results. The meeting was also attended by P&D chairman Humayun Firshori, finance secretary Salman Saddique and C&W secretary Sabtain Fazle Aleem.

The chief minister said that delay in the approval process of development projects would not be tolerated and responsible would be taken to task. He said that an effective system of monitoring was essential in the utilization of funds in a transparent manner.

He said that the P&D would be transformed into an ideal institution which be responsible for providing guidelines to all government departments besides helping in policy formulation.
