Fine performance by Yasir, Shakir


KARACHI, July 3: Yasir Hussain and Talib Ali excelled with the bat in the leatest round of matches in the Touchme Trophy KCCA inter-zonal under-17 cricket tournament on Wednesday.

Yasir made a fine 65 with six boundaries in Zone-I Whites’ 88-run victory over Zone-II Blues.

Leg-spinner Shakir Ali claimed five for 56 for the losers.

At Landhi Gymkhana Ground, Zone-V Whites inflicted a massive 167-run defeat on Zone-IV Blues.

Talib Ali smashed seven boundaries in scoring 74 and Mohammad Khalid contributed an unbeaten 52 in Zone-V Whites total of 253-6 in 50 overs.

Zone-IV Blues, in reply, crashed to 86 all out in 32.3 overs with off-spinner Awais Iqbal capturing four for 23.

*Zone-I Whites beat Zone-II Blues by 88 runs at TMC Ground.

ZONE-I WHITES 190 in 47.4 overs (Yasir Hussain 65, Arsalan Anwar 51 not out, Asad Butt 26; Shakir Ali 5-56, Shoaib Lodhi 3-59);
