Acting Nazim takes oath

MINGORA, July 3: Malik Sardar Ali Khan was administered oath as the acting district Nazim of Swat by District and Sessions Judge Alamzeb Khan here on Thursday.

The seat had fallen vacant due to the death of District Nazim Mehboobur Rehman last weak. On Wednesday, Malik Sardar was elected as the acting district Nazim by defeating his rival Sher Bahadur Khanzada by 11 votes.

The acting Nazim vowed to serve the people irrespective of their political affiliations. He paid tribute to the late Nazim for the services he rendered for the people of Swat.

The oath-taking ceremony was largely attended.
