KARACHI: Boy commits suicide

KARACHI, June 29: A teenager committed suicide in Model Colony on Sunday.

Police said that an 18-year-old student of intermediate, Amir Raza hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his house in Model Colony. He reportedly took this extreme action in depression, as he was frustrated with the routine quarrels between his parents, police said. The body was taken to JPMC for autopsy.

According to the police, the victim’s father was jobless for the last few months.

In another incident, a man committed suicide after killing his wife in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. In a domestic dispute, Abdul Rahim hit his wife Rubina with shovel. She died on the spot, police said. Following her death, Rahim hanged himself from an iron rod in the ceiling of his house in Bakhtawar goth.

KILLED: A shopkeeper, Akhtar Nawaz, 32, was shot dead in Sukhan-II, Malir, on Sunday.

Akhtar Nawaz, the owner of Ghousia General Store, was shot dead by three unidentified armed men, police said.

BODIES FOUND: The bodies of two unidentified men were found from Pak Colony and Gulshan-i-Hadeed on Sunday.

The bullet riddled body of an unidentified young man was recovered from Hasan Auliya Village road of Pak Colony.

In Gulshan-i-Hadeed, the body of an unidentified man was found near Masjid-i-Quba. Doctors said that he had died of poisoning.
