PESHAWAR, June 21: Secretary of Peshawar District Hockey Association (PDHA) Hidayat Ullah Khan has issued notices to three hockey clubs to clear their position regarding formation of parallel hockey body in District Peshawar.

These clubs have been asked to clear their position within seven days.

The decision to this effect was taken at a hurriedly called meeting of PDHA held here at Qayyum Sports Complex on Friday. The meeting was attended by representatives from 10 clubs out of 13 affiliated with the association.

The meeting strongly criticised the steps taken by certain elements, forming parallel body in the hockey association and warned them that they would be dealt with according to the constitutions of the PHF.

The meeting also warned those people who have no clubs and hockey back ground and are the office bearers of various hockey bodies.

They have been asked to stop interferring in the affairs of PDHA otherwise strong action would be taken against them.

According to clause 26 of the PHF Constitution, no person could form parallel body within the association and if found involved in such activities would be declared “Persona-non-Grata” and would be barred from participating in any hockey event.

After the meeting, secretary of PDHA said that all the decisions taken by majority members would be referred to the NWFP Hockey Association.

“Now it is duty of the NWFP Hockey Association to inform the PHF regarding forming of parallel body,” he added.—APP
