COLOMBO, June 15: A team of officials from the Scandinavian ceasefire monitors, the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission headed by General Tryggve Tellefsen, on Friday concluded their discussions with head of the Political Wing of the LTTE, S. Thamilchelvam in Kilinochchi.

SLMM sources said that during the meeting, which lasted almost two hours, the LTTE had highlighted the recent increase in the arrest of LTTE cadres by the Sri Lanka Police and Security Forces.

In response, the SLMM officials put forward the perspective of the government of Sri Lanka on the issue and pointed out the increase in harassment and death of the members of all anti-LTTE persons and groups in the Northeast such as those of the EPDP.
