KARACHI, June 13: A 13-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in her house in Clifton on Friday.

Police said that Rehana, daughter of Mukhtar Ahmed, consumed poisonous substance after her mother scolded her on the home work of summer vacation inside their residence in Shah Rasool Colony.

The girl was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where she died under treatment.

ELECTROCUTED: Two persons were electrocuted in separate incidents on Friday.

Police said that an electrician Iqbal was working at an under construction building near Bilawal House, when he got electrocuted. His body was shifted to the JPMC for autopsy.

In another incident, Yaqeen Ali was reportedly trying to hook on the high tension wires, when he got electrocuted. His body was shifted to the JPMC for postmortem examination.

RETURNS HOME: The son of a cantonment officer, who had been kidnapped for ransom on June 5, returned home on Friday morning.

The poli ce and Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) sources said that Bilal, 24, resident of Defence and son of Muzaffar Shaukat Najmi, posted at Sargodha Cantt, was kidnapped along with his car (ABD-201) from Clifton.
