By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, June 2: The district governments in the NWFP would get 10 per cent increased amount of funds in the 2003-04 financial year in comparison with the out-going fiscal year, official sources told Dawn.

Sources in the provincial finance ministry said that the increase would be effected in the quantum of funds provided by the provincial government to the district governments to meet their expenditure requirements under the non-salary head.

The last government had projected to distribute a total of Rs 15.16 billion among the 24 districts during the 2002-03 financial year. The sources said that the distribution of funds among the district governments and the provincial government would continue to be in accordance with the formula envisaged under the PFC award.
