HARIPUR, May 31: Provincial Minister for Health and Population Welfare Inayatullah on Saturday warned the EDO health of severe action if over 90 per cent results in the upcoming polio drive were not achieved.

“I will suspend the EDO concerned if the desired target is not accomplished as we have faced ignominy and objections from the donors,” he said speaking at the inaugural ceremony of District Comprehensive Eye Care Programme at the district headquarters hospital Haripur.

Earlier, the minister health took round of different departments of the hospital and formally inaugurated the eye care centre established with the help of an Australian NGO, Fredhollows Foundation.

Eulogising the assistance provided by the Australian NGO in the shape of equipment and tools for the centre, he urged the philanthropists and Pakistan-based NGOs to replicate this programme in other spheres of health care services across the province.
