PWF to implement sports policy

ISLAMABAD, May 20: Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) on Tuesday became the latest national sports body to bring itself in line with the national sports policy.

Secretary PWF, Muzaffar Qureshi, wrote a letter to Director General of Pakistan Sports Board, Brig. Saulat Abbas, saying it would complete its elections at all tiers by July-August this year, it was officially learnt.

Qureshi said the elections of weightlifting bodies in Balochistan and Sindh had almost been completed while the same process would be wrapped up in the Punjab and NWFP shortly.

This will be followed by elections for PWF itself, tentatively in July- August, according to the “road-map” of the federation.—APP
