KARACHI: MBBS results announced

KARACHI, May 17: The examination department, University of Karachi, on Saturday announced the results of the First Professional, MBBS, Part-A and Part-B, annual examinations, 2003.

Soniya Hanif, d/o Hanif Ahmed, seat 1153 of Jinnah Medical College secured first position with 415 marks, Arsalan Rafiq, s/o Rafiq, seat 1503, of Dow Medical College, bagged second position by securing 408 marks, and Bilal Kabeer, s/o Abdul Kabeer, of the same college stood third by getting 407 marks.

According to the statistics of the results, some 684 candidates registered themselves with the KU examination department, of which, 682 appeared and 545 were declared successful. The pass percentage remained 79.91.

The department has withheld the results of candidates having seat nos. 1119, 1302, 1509, 1510, 1512, 1512, 1565, 1602, 1625 and 1780, citing various reasons.

All the top three positions in the First Professional Part-B, MBBS annual examinations, 2003, were clinched by the students of the Dow Medical College, where Mirza Ammar Ahmed, s/o Mirza Aziz Ahmed, seat no 2284, bagged first position and Shahza Agha, s/o Israr Ahmed Agha, seat no 2470 secured second position, while the third position was shared by Nabil Ahmed Khan, s/o Shakil Ahmed Khan, seat no 2269, Parkash, s/ Gobind Ram, seat no 2270, Aisha Sabir, d/o Raja Muhammad Sabir, seat no 2334, Bushra Billoo, d/o Razzak Billoo, and Saira Bashir, d/o Muhammad Bashir, seat no 2833, all studying at DMC, Karachi.

Statistics of the result revealed that some 781 candidates registered themselves with KU exams department, of which 780 appeared and 621 were declared passed, with 79.62 pass percentage. — PPI
