RAWALPINDI, May 8: The police on Thursday booked two officials of the SSP office on charges of swindling money from an army man and threatening him with dire consequences.
A case was registered against the two clerks after the anti- corruption directorate and legal experts investigating into the complaint found two clerks of the SSP office guilty, the police said.
The complaint against the two clerks, Haq Nawaz Baqir and Khalid Hashmi, was lodged by Mohammad Ajaib of the Headquarter Logistic Area. The complainant said some persons wrongfully involved his three relatives in a murder case which resulted in their arrest. Mr Ajaib said while he was trying to get his relatives released, he met the two clerks who assured him that they would help him secure bail of his relatives, if he gave them Rs43,000.
“I gave them Rs29,000 and promised to pay the remaining amount after my three relatives were released and the case against them was withdrawn. But after a few days, the two clerks started demanding the remaining amount, despite that they had done nothing to secure release of my relatives.”
Mr Ajaib said when he claimed back his money, the two clerks threatened them with dire consequences. Civil Lines police have registered an FIR against the two clerks who are yet to be arrested.
