ISLAMABAD, May 7: The Sindh government on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that Asif Zardari was required in 11 murder cases.

The statement by Sindh Advocate-General Anwar Mansoor Khan baffled the counsel for Asif Zardari, who had approached the court to direct the government for shifting him to Sindh where they believed four murder cases were pending against him and he wanted to appear before courts to clear his name.

“I am shocked to hear this,” said Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, one of the counsel.

On the last hearing, the court had directed the advocate-general to submit a complete list of pending criminal cases against Asif Zardari. Mr Pirzada said his client was aware of only four pending cases in which he was one of the accused.
