Gold for Qamar

LAHORE, May 3: Qamer Hussain of Pakistan won a gold and three silver medals in the Asian Powerlifting championship at Almaty Kazakhstan on Saturday.

Qamer, competing in 82.5 kg class, lifted 270 kg in squat, 130 kg in bench press, 297.5 kg in deadlift and total 697.5 kg which gave Pakistan one gold and three silver medals.

Qamer tried to create a new Asian record in dead lift by lifting 313.5kg but failed.
