KARACHI, April 30: Samad Bawany caused a mild upset in the Karachi Club Younis Latif Baksh One Frame Memorial Snooker Tournament, when he ousted seeded cueist Huzeifa Mushtaq by winning the frame 53/31.
However seeded Aneel Bherwani moved ahead into the third round with a 63/9 victory of young Azeem Yousuf, scion of former world amateur world and Asian champion Mohammad Yousuf.
Joining Aneel was younger brother Ajay, who accounted for Hammad Khatri 53/47, in a closely fought out frame.
Also going into the third round was seasoned Abdul Waheed Sheikh, who accounted for Shafiq Amiwalla 50/40, Bharat Satiani who had to work up a sweat in overcoming Umair Idrees 60/47 and Ahmed Saleem who had little difficulty in disposing off Ashwaq Yousuf Toto 58/28.
This tournament is being organised by Karachi Club in memory of former Pakistan No. 2 Younus Amir Baksh, who died a couple of months ago.
Younus, who represented the country in the World Snooker and Billiards Championship and also in the Asian Snooker Championship, was only 37 years old.
