Murderer gets death sentence

RAWALPINDI, April 30: The additional district and sessions judge, Syed Pervez Ali Shah, on Wednesday handed down death sentence to a man in murder case.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the convict, Shahzad Maseh, which would go as compensation to the bereaved family.

According to the prosecution, the convict had allegedly murdered a person, Amir, in the jurisdiction of Westridge police station.

The victim was allegedly having love affairs with one of the sisters of the convict.

In the same case, the court also acquitted two other co- accused, Shakil and Nisar.
