Extremists major threat to Pakistan: Musharraf

SARGODHA, April 29: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has said that foreigners were not a threat to Pakistan, but major danger to its integrity was from religious extremists which were involved in the politics of hatred.

He said that Pakistan came into existence in the name of Islam and it was the fortress of Islam. He was addressing a darbar of Air Defence Regiment in the Cantt here on Tuesday.

He appreciated the services and skills of the armed forces and said that nobody would be allowed to cause harm to the country. He said that everybody was aware of the skill and bravery of the armed forces and wouldn’t dare attack the country, but the religious organizations were engaged in doing harm to the country by their activities.
