ISLAMABAD, April 27: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali presided over a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s House on Sunday. The meeting reviewed the political situation at length with special reference to the on-going negotiations with the opposition.

Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister reiterated the resolve to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions in the country.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Q and its allies, he said, believed in democratic norms and principles and would uphold them in letter and spirit.

He hoped the opposition would reciprocate in similar spirit and all outstanding issues would be resolved through accommodation, understanding and flexibility.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers, ministers of state, provincial chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan and leaders of a number of allied parties.

The National Assembly will meet on Monday at 5.30pm after a two-day break.—APP
