LAHORE, April 27: Federal Industries Minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Sunday announced that one-desk operation facilities would soon be available at seven entry-points in the country to lure foreign investors.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a television plant at Manga, he said Pakistan had adopted revolutionary measures to boost industries sector besides attracting foreign investors.
He said one-desk operation facilities at airports and other entry points would later be extended to all over the country to facilitate foreign investors.
Mr Jatoi said the Export Promotion Bureau was also being re-organized with an aim to provide 24-hour export clearance facilities to exporters, adding country’s economy was growing and going in the right direction. He hoped that 18 per cent growth rate will be achieved by June this year, he said.
Similarly, he said the Pakistan Steel Mills, an erstwhile sick industry, was also being expanded to enhance its production capability from 1.5 million tons to three million tons for which MoUs had been signed with China and Russia.
He said that drastic changes were also being brought in the power looms industry which would be replaced by the information technology and added it would prove instrumental in boosting textile sector in the country.
The minister assured that a policy was also being evolved to facilitate industrialists.
He invited Japanese and Korean investors to invest in Pakistan without any fear.—APP
