NAWABSHAH, April 27: The executive engineer, Nusrat irrigation division, has announced a fresh water rotation programme on the basis of availability of water in Nusrat Branch.

According to the programme, Jalbani minor, Chaheen minor, Draki minor, New Sanghi link, Cheho minor, Tetri minor and Chanari distributary of Padidan sub-division and James distributary, Magsi minor, Nawabshah distributary and Labji minor of Daur sub-division will remain open from May 1 to 9.

In Nawabshah-I sub-division, Daro minor, Kandi minor, Sardarabad minor, Dago minor, Kiranjhro minor, Chodiko minor and Jam Leghari minor will remain open from April 28 to May 6 while Right Jari minor, Left Jari minor, Khipro minor, Minajhor minor, Dhoro Kunjion minor, Akdohi minor, Bhit Maroo distributary, Dhoji minor and Suhelo minor of Nawabshah-II sub-division will remain open from May 1 to 9.

In Shahpur sub-division, Channa distributary, Gabri minor, Run minor, Barhoon minor, Chanmro minor and Shahpur distributary will remain open from April 28 to May 6.

The water rotation programme had been chalked out due to an acute shortage of water in the River Indus and less supply to Rohri Canal, the executive engineer said.
