KARACHI: Issuance of birth, death certificates

KARACHI, April 27: Sindh Chief Secretary K. B. Rind has directed the district coordination officers to adopt a transparent policy for issuance of death and birth certificates and take action against the officials who cause delay or demand additional payment.

He said the policy and schedule of fees should be publicized through press and displayed on notice boards to remove difficulties encountered by the public in this regard, a handout said on Sunday.

He issued the instructions while talking to a delegation of social workers.

The delegation informed him that the citizens faced hardships and their time was wasted in obtaining the certificates as they were asked to repeatedly visit the office and often overcharged by the officials.—PPI
