Oath taking

SHEIKHUPURA, April 25: The oath taking ceremony of the local press club was held here on Friday.

The oath was administered by Dawood Group of Industries chairman Muhammad Husain Dawood.

Mr Dawood urged journalists to perform their duties honestly to uphold the dignity and standard of their profession. He announced installation of an airconditioner and sound system in the club, and construction of a room for library.

Those who took oath of their office include president Sarwar Rana, senior vice-president Tahir Masood Sajid, vice president Muhammad Khan, general secretary Azim Ahmad Yazdani, information secretary Rao Asad Kharal, joint secretary Majid Malhi, finance secretary Rana Akram and office secretary Asmatullah.

MPAs Afzal Sultan Dogar, Mian Khalid Mahmood, Abid Chattha and newly-elected officer-bearers also spoke on the occasion. — Correspondent
