Tareq Aziz in US custody

WASHINGTON, April 24: The United States has detained former Iraqi deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz, US media claimed on Thursday.

Two networks, CNN and ABC television, cited US officials as saying Mr Aziz, the longtime international face of President Saddam Hussein’s government, had been detained.

The ABC said Aziz had given himself up. CNN said the details were not immediately known.
