Druggists observe strike


MIRPURKHAS, April 24: Responding to the call of the Druggists and Chemists Association, Mirpurkhas, complete strike was observed by all medical stores on Thursday to protest against the failure of the police to arrest the killers of a medical store salesman, Mohammad Yasir.

Patients faced hardships in getting medicines as all the medical stores remained closed.

Druggists and chemists, led by Arshad Buland and Mohammad Saeed, held a protest demonstration. From the Madina Masjid Chowk they marched through the main roads, demanding the early arrest of the killers of the salesman.

INQUIRY ORDERED: The district Nazim, Mirpurkhas, Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani, has ordered an inquiry on Wednesday into the construction of the water supply scheme completed at an estimated cost of Rs2.3 million at old Shadi Palli.

Several complaints had been received that substandard material had been used in the construction.—Correspondent
