BNP-Mengal to strive for unity

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, April 24: Central committee of the Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) has decided to strive for the unity of nationalist political groups to struggle collectively for the rights of oppressed people in the province.

This decision was taken at a committee meeting held in Khuzdar and chaired by BNP-Mengal President Sardar Akhtar Mengal.

Political situation in the country and party matters were on the agenda.

Party sources stated that participants of the meeting emphasized that in views of the American occupation of Iraq, unity within the ranks of nationalist forces was necessary to safeguard the interest of the Balochistan people.

The meeting also decided to form a five-member committee to initiate talks with other nationalist groups.

Participants warned that usurpers wanted to turn the Baloch majority into minority in Gwadar.

People would not be taken in by the government propaganda that construction of modern seaport or coastal highway was aimed at changing the economic condition of the province, they added.
