KARACHI, April 22: Five ships including a car carrier, with 214 units, are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves gathered momentum thanks to steady arrivals of the incoming vessels. As a result, six ships, Oriental Bright, Bunga Mastiga, Sima Bahar and Kota Wangsa to unload and load containers, Al-Cyonida to offload crude oil and Zadar to load molasses were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships which departed included Med Tai Chung, Kota Wangsa and Sorena, while Spectrum, Bunga Mastiga, Sima Bahar and Al-Cyonida are expected to sail out on Wednesday.

A total tonnage of 94,147 tons comprising 28,401 tons of export cargo including 3,251 tons of rice and 65,746 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: CMC Pearl, Hyundai Spronter, with containers, Santa Cruzi, Eijin, with 214 vehicles and Velasquez, with general cargo.
