Bandits kill passenger

By Our Correspondent

RAJANPUR, April 19: Bandits allegedly belonging to the Bugti tribe struck again on Friday night at Indus highway near Rojhan when they looted a coach, killed one of its passengers and kidnapped another.

They also damaged an oil tanker and injured a police inspector. The highwaymen intercepted a Karachi-bound passenger bus (PNR-3766) coming from Swat. They ordered the passengers to come down one by one and hand them over whatever valuable they had.

When a passenger, Gul Jamal Khan, protested against the looting, the bandits shot him dead. A reserves police inspector, Ghulam Farid, was crossing by the area by chance on an official jeep (RP-1111) when he came under the bandits’ fire and subsequently sustained bullet injuries.

The bus passengers later on came to Rajanpur city along with some four injured and protested outside the official residence of Rajanpur DPO Chaudhry Muhammad Muneer.
