KOLKATA, April 19: Indian Cricket Board President Jagmohan Dalmiya will discuss contractual details with coach John Wright immediately after the final of ongoing tri-series in Dhaka on Sunday.
Wright is expected to arrive in Kolkata after the final and details of arrangements with him would be discussed, Dalmiya said on Saturday.
The final decision in this regard, however, would be taken by the Working Committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which would now meet sometime next month, he said.
Earlier, the meeting was scheduled on April 25 and 26 in New Delhi, but Dalmiya said it might not be possible this month.
Wright’s earlier contract with the Board expired with the World Cup final on March 23 and his term was extended by two months by Dalmiya on ad-hoc basis in view of Dhaka tourney.
But now BCCI is contemplating to retain Wright for longer term and utilise his services at Bangalore based National Cricket Academy. Keeping that in mind NCA Board, which met last week, did not appoint any chief coach for premier national academy.—PPI
