Arms, drugs cache seized

QUETTA, April 19: The Chagai militia, a wing of the Frontier Corps, has seized huge quantities of drugs, arms and ammunition from the general area of Badi near the Pakistan-Afghan border.

According to the Frontier Corps sources, the Chagai militia on a tip-off raided the Badi area on Saturday and recovered around 400kgs of morphine and hashish which had been smuggled from Afghanistan.

The armed men guarding the drugs and illegal arms and ammunition, escaped without offering any resistance. The drugs had been dumped in an underground hideout.

The seized ammunition included mortar bombs 5, hand-grenades 15 with fuse, 107 MM bombs 8, 40MM chargers 3, automatic guns 5, SMG 1 and over 2,000 rounds of 12.7 and 14.5MM guns.
