PESHAWAR: Neurologists give free treatment

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, April 19: A team of 18 neurologists provided free medical treatment to 500 epilepsy patients at the Habib Medical Centre here on Saturday.

The free medical camp, organized by the Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC), and the Jansen-Cilag, also distributed medicines to epilepsy patients.

The doctors, comprising 16 specialists from Karachi and one each from Islamabad and Lahore, distributed 15,000 handbills to make people aware about the disease.

Business unit manager of the Jansen-Cilag, Nasir Masood, said that epilepsy is curable and the free medical camp was established to educate patients about the disease.

He said that neurologists’ team would provide training to general practitioners and doctors of neurology for a better care of epilepsy patients.
