KARACHI, April 19: The district officer secondary and higher secondary education (male) has said that students who cannot afford education expenses will be granted stipends from the Zakat fund, said a press release here on Saturday.

He said that Zakat assistance would be provided through schools, colleges, universities, polytechnic and other educational, training and professional institutions functioning under private sectors purely for charitable and social welfare purposes.

Deserving students, both male and female, will be nominated by local Zakat committees. The applications can be submitted through heads of education institutions on the prescribed forms for “ MORA Scholarship”.

The stipend for high school’ students is 112/ per moth, as approved in the meeting of the central Zakat council.—PPI
