Shabbir takes lead in CAS golf

PESHAWAR, April 18: Shabbir Iqbal of Islamabad golf club took the lead over Mohammad Munir on the second day of Bank Al-Falah 25 the Chief of the Air Staff Open Golf Championship, 2003 being played at the PAF golf club on Friday.

Shabbir played brilliant strokes and played 67 (5 under par). He was followed by Matloob Ahmad with a score of 138 over 18 holes, whereas Mohammad Tariq remained at third position with a score of 167.

In the Amateur category, Shahid Javed took lead over Waqas Ahmed with a score of 142. Waqas Ahmed and Ibrahim Asad remained on the second position with a score of 143 each.

Dr Aimal Zaman remained is in third position with a score of 147.

In the Amateur net category Ali Sulehri of Mardan Golf Club remained the leader with a score of 139, whereas Ibrahim Asad got second position with the score of 139. M Safdar and Air Commodore Tahir Ehsan Malik both got third position with score of 140 each.

Total number of entries in the championship is 207 and offer a total cash prize of Rs 2,50,000, which would be distributed among the top 20 winners.

Arshad Ali of Lahore Gymkhana won the car for the first ‘Hole in One’ on Friday.

The championship ends on Sunday.
