GUJRANWALA, April 17: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) has offered its consumers that they will be given cash prize on identifying a power thief.

This was stated by Gepco chief executive Brig Saifullah Khalid while speaking at an open kutchery in Mandi Bahauddin on Thursday.

He said it was brought to his notice that some Gepco officials were helping consumers in electricity theft. He warned them of strict action if they were found involved in corruption.

The Gepco chief offered defaulters to avail the package announced by Wapda for payment of outstanding dues.

He said villages were being electrified on the proposals of legislators and Nazims under Khushhal Pakistan programme.

He listened to the consumer complaints and issued orders for their resolution.

Members of national and provincial assemblies and Nazims besides a large number of consumers attended the kutchery.
