QUETTA, April 16: Negotiations were held between the chief of the Bugti tribe, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, and officials of Pakistan Petroleum Limited and the Sui Southern Gas Company on Wednesday to resolve the disputes in Dera Bugti.

Matters relating to demands of the residents of the area, including provision of jobs to them, specially the wards of the deceased or retired employees were discussed.

Sources said Nawab Bugti was of the view that the gas companies had not implemented the agreement signed last month between them and the tribe.

Balochistan Chief Secretary Mohammad Ashraf and former National Assembly speaker Elahi Bukhsh Soomro were also present.
