Six die in Kashmir violence


SRINAGAR, April 15: Four Muslim militants and two civilians were killed in continuing freedom movement in occupied Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.

Indian troops shot dead three militants during an encounter in the Channa Hari village in Poonch district late Monday. Two AK rifles and two radio sets were recovered following the encounter, a police spokesman claimed.

He said the fourth militant was shot dead near the picnic spot of Kokernag in Anantnag during a similar encounter.

Suspected freedom fighters overnight stormed the house of a lawyer in the village of Topa Mendhar in Poonch and shot him dead. Another civilian was shot dead by suspected militants in Anantnag late Monday, police said.—AFP
