PESHAWAR, April 15: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) has dissolved its branches in the tribal area of Kurram Agency and nominated Maulana Shujaul Mulk as coordinator till elections.

The party has also convened a meeting of its Federally Administered Tribal Areas’ (Fata) MNAs and provincial executive council in Islamabad on April 17.

A press release on Tuesday said a meeting of the JUI-F provincial executive council was held here which discussed party affairs. Provincial chief and MNA Maulana Amanullah Khan presided over the meeting.

It was decided that provincial ministers, members of national and provincial assemblies and the executive council would hold their meeting in the first week of every month in the provincial secretariat. Mr Shamsur Rehman Shamsi had been appointed in charge of the secretariat.

The executive council discussed the recommendations of the provincial Nifaz-i-Shariat Council, performance of the provincial ministers and MNAs and senators from Fata.

The council dissolved its branches in Kurram Agency and constituted a two-member committee, headed by MNA Shujaul Mulk. The committee will complete party membership and hold elections within 40 days.

The meeting denounced the allied forces invasion of Iraq, attacks on holy places and the United States’ intimidation of Syria. The council supported MMA’s stance on the LFO.
