HYDERABAD, April 15: Ten samples taken from different chemical fertilizers were found substandard after laboratory test.
According to a report issued by the Sindh Directorate of Plant Protection, Hyderabad, on Tuesday, the samples had been taken from DAP, Urea (FFC), DAP (Suraj), DAP (7-Star), DAP (Engro), N. P and Urea (NFC).
The director of Plant Protection has asked the district officers concerned to get an FIR registered against the people from whose possession the fertilizers were obtained.
He further directed them to seize the stock of the substandard fertilizer.
The report said the samples had been obtained from the Japal Das Shadab Fertilizer Agency, Gharhi Khero, Jacobabad district, Amerlal Chawala Fertilizer dealer, Shahdadkot, Larkana district, Heresh Fertilizer Agency, Gambat, Khairpur district, Mohammad Ishaq and Sons, Agra Road, Gambat, Khairpur district, Motomal, Agra Road, Gambat, Khairpur district, Good Luck Traders, Gambat, Khairpur district, Altaf Hussain Shaikh and Brothers, Khurhra, Khairpur district, Jay Parkash Aswari Fertilizer Dealer, Sujawal, Thatta district, Hotomal Bulri Shah Karim, Hyderabad district, and Islamuddin Al-Hafiz Trader, Hala Naka, Hyderabad district.
POWER: The performance of the Water and Power Development Authority should be improved to provide better water and power facilities to consumers and save the organization from privatization.
This was stated by Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union president Abdul Latif Nizamani while speaking at a meeting of workers at the Labour Hall here on Tuesday.
Mr Nizamani stressed the need for controlling power theft and wastage.
He pointed out various government departments owed Wapda Rs23 billion which needed to be recovered.
He said the working of Wapda could be improved by giving more incentives to employees.
Mr Nizamani said the Wapda administration should hold a dialogue with the CBA union to resolve problems of employees.
